The oil would rise almost naturally thru it. Sure, it would have to be removed on top.

Well that surely ...
Well that surely was a s**tty idea. Basically they keep trying to cork the hole like some champagne bottle, but not realizing the fact with so much pressure coming from the ground it won't work. This doesn't look as if BP is trying hard enough. They had no back-up plan what so ever on scenarios like this. Now it's going to take years for this clean up? I wonder if that means months to stop the hole....damn.?
